The coalition is currently undergoing an organizational transition that includes the implementation of a shared leadership model, governance restructuring, financial systems strengthening, and the development of a medium-term sustainability strategy.

As part of this transition, the coalition seeks a Financial Planning and Systems Consultant to strengthen financial systems and reporting, and build internal financial management capacity among staff, leadership, and governance bodies.

The consultant will work closely with the Executive Committee, Accountant, and relevant staff members to ensure that the coalition’s financial systems are transparent, accessible, and aligned with its strategic priorities.

Purpose of the Consultancy

  • Train staff, accountant, new elected board on financial governance as per Bylaws and handbook.

  • Train accountant on Quickbooks and set up their transition.

  • Support the integration and effective use of QuickBooks and Excel-based financial management systems and financial systems.

  • Build financial literacy and capacity among staff, the Executive Committee, and the board.

  • Three-Year Financial Planning: Prepare multiple financial scenarios (conservative, realistic, and growth scenarios).

  • Practical training and coaching to:

    • QuickBooks management and reporting.

    • Integration between QuickBooks and Excel systems.

    • Budget tracking and monitoring.

    • Financial reporting preparation.

FOR OUR Staff

  • Understanding organizational budgets.
  • Financial planning and expenditure tracking.

  • Budget ownership and responsibility within programs.

  • QUICKBOOK BASICS

Executive Committee and Board

  • Reading and interpreting financial reports.

  • Budget oversight and governance responsibilities.

  • Financial risk assessment.

  • Financial decision-making and sustainability planning.

Deliverables

By the end of the consultancy, the consultant will deliver:

  • Financial assessment and recommendations memo.

  • QuickBooks and Excel are financial management framework.

  • Financial governance and reporting recommendations.

  • Training sessions for accountant, staff, Executive Committee, and Board.

  • Brief final report summarizing findings, recommendations, and next steps.

Duration

45-65 Days consultancy days between August And September 2026.

The exact timeline will be agreed upon with the coalition and may be adjusted according to organizational needs.

Reporting and Supervision

The consultant will report to the newly elected Executive Committee and will work closely with the Accountant and relevant staff members.

Required Qualifications

The consultant should demonstrate:

  • At least five years of experience in nonprofit financial management, budgeting, or financial planning.

  • Experience supporting NGOs, coalitions, feminist organizations, networks, or social justice organizations.

  • Strong expertise in budgeting, financial forecasting, and sustainability planning.

  • Experience using QuickBooks and Excel-based financial management systems.

  • Experience supporting audits and donor-funded financial reporting.

  • Strong facilitation and training skills.

  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial audiences.

  • Familiarity with participatory, movement-based, or feminist organizational models is highly desirable.

  • Spanish and English Proficiency OR Spanish and Arabic Proficiency are a must.
